The AI Workflows Starter Kit
How to turn repeat tasks into AI-assisted systems — the WORKFLOW Map, the four levels of AI workflows, and review gates that keep you in control.
1. Start here
Most people use AI like a search box: ask one question, get one answer, start over next time. That's useful, but it's not where the real leverage is. The leverage starts when you turn repeat work into a reusable workflow — a repeatable path from input to useful output, with a starting point, steps, review, and a saved result.
The Founders AI rule: if you do the same task more than twice, stop treating it like a one-off. Turn it into a workflow. That doesn't mean automating everything — it means building a simple repeatable system.
2. The WORKFLOW Map
The guide's core framework walks you through your first system: Work to repeat, Outcome, Required input, Known steps, Failure checks, Loop for review, Output format, and Where it lives. Fill in the map once and you have a workflow you can run — and improve — every time.
It also draws the line between a prompt (one instruction), a prompt template (a reusable instruction), a workflow (a repeatable process), an automation (a workflow that runs through tools), and an agent — so you always know which one a task actually needs.
3. The four levels — and staying in control
You climb four levels: manual workflows (you paste input, AI helps), saved prompt workflows, tool-assisted workflows (output moves into Docs, Notion, Sheets, or your CRM), and fully automated workflows triggered without you. Only proven repeat tasks earn automation.
Every level keeps a human review gate and failure checks, so you get the leverage of systems without the risk of AI running unchecked.
